Welcome to Our Lady of the Skies Chapel at John F Kennedy International Airport. We are dedicated to serve travelers, airline crews and airport employees when it comes to spiritual needs. The chapel is open daily between 6 AM and 10 PM. We welcome you to come and pray or just spend some time away from the terminal noise.
Joseph V. Clabby began his career in 1969 as New York City police officer working organized crime cases as an undercover officer. In 1972, Mr. Clabby achieved the rank of Detective and was assigned to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. He became the DA's leading "White Collar Crime Expert" specializing in high profile corporate crime and began lecturing at banks and financial institutions on topics such as apprehension, protection and the effects of economic crime and financial fraud schemes on business and the economy.
As a homicide detective in 1975, Mr. Clabby served in the NYPD Major Case Squad. He also became an important members of the NYPD intelligence community and anti-terror unit winning many awards and commendations during his tenure.
In 1978, Mr. Clabby received his commission as a Chief Warrant Officer for counter-terrorism; he received expert training in counter insurgence, counter-terrorism and Special Operations.
In 1984, after retiring from the NYPD, he used his extensive knowledge and experience to develop Corporate Loss Prevention Associates. Thanks to Mr. Clabby's dedication, the firm has grown into a major leader in the security and loss prevention industry. His foresight and experience has won him recognition by Federal and State court jurisdictions, providing expert testimony for trademark infringement cases.
Mr. Clabby's educational background includes a Bachelors of Science Degree in Police Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and MBA in Public Administration. He also holds many certifications and accreditations for courses and seminars attended in the fields of loss prevention and anti-terrorism. In addition to his law enforcement background, Mr. Clabby has a long and distinguished record of military service. He is an active member of the intelligence community and is a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserves.
While serving in the Vietnam conflict, M. Clabby was stationed on the Aircraft Carrier USS Guadalcanal as part of the Joint Marine and Army Intelligence which was responsible for the debriefing of POWs.
In 1990, Mr. Clabby participated in "Operation Desert Storm" and was stationed in Saudi Arabia where he commended an anti-terrorism task force which successfully investigated and identified operating terrorist groups and terminated their acts against United States military installations, personnel and civilians.
In February of 1997, he was again asked by the United States Army to provide his expertise by investigating terrorism and war crimes in support of our peacekeeping efforts in Bosnia. Mr. Clabby was elevated to Commander, US Army Intelligence Forces in Europe, and led an international team of investigators comprised of British, German, French and Russian Counter Intelligence Agents.
Over the past thirty years, he has been recalled to active duty over thirty times to serve in intelligence and counter-terrorism units in Iraq, Afghanistan, Honduras, Belgium and countless other locations. Mr. Clabby's long and continuing military service to our country has brought him many honors, medals and awards from various military departments he has worked for and served within. Mr. Clabby has also received medals and awards from many foreign countries and governments he has assisted in the intelligence and anti-terror area.
Currently, Mr. Clabby serves as the Security Team Leader for KAAMCO at JFK and was awarded Man of the Year for KAAMCO in 2003. In accordance with this position, he has developed a Terrorism Awareness Program for airport personnel in conjunction with the Queens District Attorney's Office and the New York State Office of Homeland Security. He is also a professor of Homeland Security in aviation at Farmingdale State College and is a member of the security guard advisory council for the State of New York.
Joseph V. Clabby has been married to his wife, Karen, for 24 years, and currently resides in Massapequa. His daughter, Kimberly, is currently attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA and is majoring in Music Production. She is presently in London, England advancing her studies.
